Re: New RCT*Mart Frequent Shopper Program

**********MEMORANDUM**********

We're pleased to announce the new RCT*Mart Frequent Shopper Program which is being rolled out to our various store locations around the country. Store managers should have already received instructions and hanging signs to post around their stores for increased visibility of our first-ever member rewards program.

The goal of our Frequent Shopper Program is to provide members with forum enhancements depending on the level of their participation on the site. Below is a breakdown of the different levels of shopper recognition, along with the bonuses each ranking provides.

Please note, the forums are set up to automatically 'promote' you from one group to the next as you post. However, it can only promote you one group at a time. So while some of you may have enough posts at the present time to qualify for higher ranks, the system will only promote you one level each time you post. So if you have 220 posts, to advance from 'Window Shopper' to 'Frequent Shopper' you'd need to post 3 more times: the first time you'll promote to 'New Shopper,' the second time to 'Regular Shopper' and the third time to 'Frequent Shopper.'

I believe when you get 100 posts.

Acutally Bubby you should be able to now..it is set to 50 posts smile.gif

Posted by: Bubby826 Sep 4 2004, 08:30 PM

Did you just do this NOW! Thank You! This site rocks! But I would like to know what mass pms are....

Posted by: rct2nut Sep 4 2004, 08:36 PM

No it has been set to 50 all along

Mass pms are when you can send to more then just one member at a time. If you notice your pm box when you create a new pm you will see a box that you can put several names in. it is a blind carbon copy like in email. the only thing is becareful and dont abuse it. Do not use it to send out advertisements for something you may have posted. This is against TOS and will cause you to get warned if found out.

D'oh - why am I always last to see cool topics like this?

I think the idea for this system is pretty good, and I agree with most of the limits you've set up there. My only concern personally is the amount of PM storage; right now my inbox isn't all that full, but it's just a matter of time really - especially with new projects etc. In special cases, will the management consider allowing an extention to PM storage (provided it really is necessary)?

Cheers guys!

Nathan

I think that we should be able to also get some more pm storage if we donate a few bucks like I will donate 3 bucks to get maximum pm storage privileges since I pm a lot and don't want to have to delete them so soon after I receive them. Anyways I am glad to have found this topic to see what each level has.

Given that any change to the group will affect all members of that group, we'd be hesitant to make any DRASTIC changes, but if people are finding that they don't have enough room, we'll be happy to address the issue.

Remember, your SENT ITEMS count toward the # of posts you're allowed to store, so if you don't need them, delete all your Sent Items regularly.

Maybe you could add a special group though for people that donate.

Another thing to consider: simply copy the pm's you want to keep onto notepad or some similar program, save them, and make yourself a folder to keep them in. I do that myself. And as someone who works for a site that's had some bad luck lately and weeks worth of posts and pm get wiped out, I was glad I had a copy stored off line.

Also remember that a large number of pm's add to the bandwidth usage whenever the site gets backed up too...and bandwidth usage effects what the site is able to offer everyone. I think so far RCT*mart has done a great job balancing the needs of the site while helping those who post a lot here get rewarded for their loyalty and efforts. Great Job Guys! wub.gif

I'm 48 and I'm still lazy, so I don't think the teenager angle is the answer! tongue.gif

Actually, it was only AFTER losing a couple of important posts due to a site going down that I was motivated to start copying the important posts sad.gif

As My Grandpa always says. "Laziness nor forgetfulness is not an excuse"

I just delete them all to save space on the site. I did my good deed for the day. lol

Plus I don't need to keep them, I have the memory of an elephant. ...and the weight.

how do you join the order of the pheonix club?

Posted by: rct2nut Sep 30 2004, 07:45 PM

well right now the club is on hold due to some real life things and also recruiting is closed for now. Sorry, but keep you eye peeled....never know when recruiting will open back up. smile.gif

I have a question regarding the profile photo size.

How come the difference between a shopping addict and a shop-aholic have no difference with Photo size kb?

And also, 65kb is not very much. Maybe have them increase by 20kb each time your member ranking improves?

It would take a long time to get to 1,500+

Yeah, that is why the privileges are so good for them.

I'm a little more than half of the way there! biggrin.gif

Posted by: BeastFan04 Dec 22 2004, 08:16 AM

I think at this rate, SythDude will be the banana-king.gif'KING OF POSTS' banana-king.gif!

I think at this point, SythDude has the highest post total for ALL non-staff! Congrats!

Posted by: SythDude Dec 22 2004, 08:29 AM

thanks dude. Yeah, I even remember a time when I was ahead of Velvet in the post count. It's kind of sad now that I'm so far behind. Oh well 4th is better than 20th....

Posted by: DoomOfDays Aug 10 2005, 07:06 AM

Does our sig limits update like from 300 to anything when we get a higher post count?

Posted by: Matt Aug 10 2005, 07:09 AM

No you must always display a 468 x 60 pixel signature, or below.

Posted by: DoomOfDays Aug 10 2005, 07:11 AM

No, I mean the charcther count.

Posted by: Matt Aug 10 2005, 07:22 AM

Oh, no, it'll always stay the same.
