I've had this problem with RCT2 ever since using this computer (for about a year now), but was wondering if anyone had heard of the problem - and a possible solution - before.

When I start RCT2, the sound is fine on all the intro/spash screens. The music plays fine when I'm in the main menu, etc.

However as soon as I start a game or open scenario editor, the sound only works for a short while - usually after 10 or so 'clicks' that would make sound (raising/lowering land, opening menus, etc.). After that it cuts out entirely.

If I close the scenario editor and go back to the main menu, the sounds work fine, only to cut out again once I open another scenario or the scenario editor.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Yeah, I have this sound bug too, but is it really a problem? I mean, it is just sound? Anyway, I never thought that closing the scenario editor then re-opening it would solve this 'bug'?! It does this bugs on my older and newer computer, so I guess it is only a game bug?

It doesn't really annoys me in my case, I'm always listening to my own music.. tongue.gif

I'm stumped on this one. My sound works fine on my mom's and my dad's computer. Maybe it's just certain discs that are missing the sound.

If its only happened since using that computer for a year, then I'd say the potentially obvious and mention the possibility of a hardware issue, perhaps?

I'm inclined to suggest swapping out sound cards if possible, or to either use an older driver for the sound card, or update to a newer driver, whichever one works.

I've had a similar problem before, though, not with this game, where some element would cut out.

I agree with Josho about updating to a newer driver, or possibly backdating to an older driver.

If the sound works fine during all of the intro/splash screens, then I don't really think it's going to be a hardware problem.
