I have used the Zero Clearances option in 8 Cars v1.302 to experiment with scenery merging. Sometimes it works like I wanted, but other times, after using the Restore Clearances option, objects like trees still "flicker" as if the Zero Clearances was still on. Even after saving and reloading the game, the objects are still like that (even after restarting RCT2). I have to load to a savegame made before I used the trainer to restore the objects to being not flickering.

For example, after turning on 8 Cars to put a pathway through a railroad track, when I restored clearances, the trees around it were flickering. I've had an instance where I've reloaded the savegame 5 times and it was still like that.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

BTW, while talking about Zero Clearances, is there any difference between Absolute and Relative?

I'm not sure how to fix it but that is something you need to remember when using 8cars is that it can seriously screw up your game as it is doing things taht the game was not intended to do.
