Someone had commented on how they'd like to be able to 'edit' the Entertainers in RCT2...

And you actually CAN create new entertainers. More like replace existing ones. They're in the G1.dat file, too.

I've uploaded the G1.DAT Modifier utility to the download database. If you can build the required .bmp files for a new entertainer, you could replace one of the existing entertainers with one of your own.

The Panda Entertainer starts at image #11973:

I've never really paid attention to what the entertainers actually do, or how they move, but I think the frame breakdown is as follows:
11973-76 Walking frame 1 (4 angles each frame)
11977-80 Walking frame 2
11981-84 Walking frame 3
11985-88 Walking frame 4
11989-92 Walking frame 5
11993-96 Walking frame 6
11997-12000 Walking frame 7
12001-12 Swinging from "pick up peep" clamp (12 frames, only one angle - SE)
12013-16 Drowning frame 1 (4 angles each frame)
12017-20 Drowning frame 2
12021-24 Drowning frame 3
12025-28 Drowning frame 4
12029-32 Drowning frame 5
12033-36 Drowning frame 6
12037-40 Drowning frame 7
12041-44 Waving frame 1 (4 angles each frame)
12045-48 Waving frame 2
12049-52 Waving frame 3
12053-56 Waving frame 4
12057-60 Waving frame 5
12061-64 Waving frame 6
12065-68 Dancing frame 1 (4 angles each frame)
12069-72 Dancing frame 2
12073-76 Dancing frame 3
12077-80 Dancing frame 4
12081-84 Dancing frame 5
12085-88 Dancing frame 6
12089-92 Dancing frame 7
12093-96 Dancing frame 8
12097-12100 Dancing frame 9
12101-04 Dancing frame 10
12105-08 Dancing frame 11
12109-12 Dancing frame 12
12113-16 Dancing frame 13
12117-20 Dancing frame 14
12121-24 Dancing frame 15
12125-28 Dancing frame 16

You could also replace things like the hats and other accessories. There's a lot of stuff on there.

The G1 Modifier (RCT2 GUI EDITOR, second from bottom) can be found here:

Just make sure you copy/backup the original game g1.dat BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES!!!

You must remember though that if people wanted to see these new entertainers you would have to include the g1.dat with your park which adds 16.1mb to your parks file. If 10 different people make 10 different entertainers, then they would all include the g1.dat with their park. For people to then open the park they would then need to backup their g1.dat then copy the newly created one and replace it then view that park. Then for the next park they would need to do this again and again. This would get tiresome so most people would just view the park without the new g1.dat which would totally destroy the whole point in you making the entertainers so in the end the effort could have been wasted. The swapping of the file is an issue. But you must also remember that you can't swap the g1.dat during a game. Well you can but the effect of the g1.dat will not take place until that person was to quit the game and load it up again. This all taking people for much more effort just to view a park than is neccessary, increasing park size and the possibility of the people not using the dat leading to wasted effort on your part and none on theirs.

If you consider if loads of people made different dats then in the future people may have to download an extra file of a large size just to view a park and with custom scenery this is already bad enough especially the parks that don't extract.

I don't think there's too much to worry about, Joshiejack. "Loads" of people aren't going to be editing the g1.dat in the first place (this game is almost dead, after all). And "Loads" of people aren't going to know how to animate the frames required even for simple things.

I suspect most people will play around with it to do things for their own enjoyment.

And given everyone's experiences with copying custom scenery and custom rides (many of which don't export automatically), I don't think the idea of copying files before opening the game is going to be too difficult to grasp.
