The problems with that coaster, I believe, were intentional as something that you would have to "fix" in order to keep the park's rating up and complete the scenario.

Why wasn't it described in the start of the Scenario? I'm usually able to catch on to stuff and I did NOT catch on to that concept.

I think it would've been too easy if it were mentioned in the start of the scenario. I think part of what made it a challenging scenario is that you had to figure it out that the coaster was a problem that needed fixing. banana-wink.gif

So for newbies, peep sacrificing was necessary to succeed in the scenario?

Thanks for mentioning that, Pinkfloyd! I was thinking about this too, & thought I remembered Fossil saying something about the coaster issue. You beat me to it!

In a way, yes. All coasters break down occasionally, but a well-designed coaster should NEVER crash. The first time a coaster crashes should be a sign that something needs fixing. This is true for any coaster, not just the one in this scenario.

As long as you fix the coaster after the first crash, the peeps will eventually forget about it and come back to the ride. It may take a few game months for this to happen, but they will return and you can still have a successful coaster/park. OTOH, if you don't do anything about it and it crashes repeatedly, well, the peeps will stay away, with good reason. banana-wink.gif

Heya, folks!

Her web site?? banana-confused.gif

Checking.... Whew! Still all there.

ClockworkMyr, we tried to give each scenario a unique concept. Maybe this was not our best game concept, but it certainly is not a "same-old same-old" scenario.

Dragon Islands can be approached in several ways:

1. Try to skate with the coaster as it is. Yes, it will crash, but you can still win the scenario.
2. Fix the coaster.
3. Demolish the coaster for cash (it will bring in around $100K). This gives a substantial war chest that should make winning the scenario easier.

While #1 is the most common approach, as it's true you would not expect the coaster to go up in flames (except if you thought about its name, LOL) #3 is the easiest in terms of "winning" the game.

Thanks for your comments. It's nice to see that the UCES still lives.
