On July 20th Simulationcity is going to be 1 year old. However Simulationcity has moved to a new domain www.simulationcity.net It has downloads, forums and a lot more. However it is still growing and anyone that would e-mail me downloads I would appreciate it.

Simulationcity
If it's for downloads send them to downloads@simulationcity.net I un-hid my e-mail address.
Rohn Starr
I've tried several times from both home and work to get to your site with no luck. I've waited for as long as 10 minutes for the page to load, and I'm on broadband in both places.

I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem. But if so, then you need to look into what is causing the problem. And if you try to say that I need to accept cookies and pop-ups, it won't happen. I'm not going to reduce the level of security on my PCs just to visit your site.
riven3d
its a cookie thing i just got a message on my firefox browser window that said the required cookies are blocked.
Nforce
I've received that same message with Firefox too. I even have the same problem when using IE, but no messages.

And like Rohn, I won't reduce the security level for a web site that I can't even view first. Until I get to look around the site, it's a no-go.

SimulationCity, if I have to receive cookies as a guest, then I think that you'll not be getting too many people visiting your site. Find a way to eliminate the cookies, or change them so that they will allow us to view the site.
Simulationcity
I don't know enough about cookies and I have no use of cookies on my site except for the forum. I have contacted the Web Host owner and he has looked into it. He reported that the problem is not the server but the problem originates somewhere between your computer and the host.

This is what he said:

QUOTE
Other than above.net having a bad routing latency which is nothing to do with our server have never seen such an error as the one as you stated.

The site loads almost instantly for me and others can view the site. One in New Jersey, Mexico and other states/countries and the have no problems viewing the site.

Maybe it's Firefox. Some that use Firefox tried viewing the site with IE and it worked fine.

Oh also someone viewed the site from France and he could view it with no problems.

All those having problems viewing my site type "tracert simulationcity.net" into a command prompt and e-mail me a snapshot of the results so that I can report it to the web-host. jordan@simulationcity.net
riven3d
i took a pic of the alert we are getting

here it is.

your site is going thru about 20 redirects its moving pretty fast but thats how many i was able to count before the message came up.
Simulationcity
Hmm I know. My dad wants me to set up a site for his company. If I create a page, give you a URL to that page and it doesn't load or you get an error that would prove it's not my site that's causing the problems because both site are on the same host.

Test file If you cannot view that page the problem does not lie at the Web host.
Rohn Starr
Well, I can see the test page with no problem, assuming that all it says is 'Test Page' at top center.

As for your site, if it's going through as many reroutes as Riven3d has counted, then there is a problem somewhere that has to deal with the host. You shouldn't be having all these reroutes if the site is set up properly on the server.
riven3d
i can see the test page also
Simulationcity
All day I could not visit this site it just wouldn't load.

It was confirmed by the web host owner the problem does not lie at the Web host. Try the latest version of Firefox.
riven3d
i can get into your forum using the link you have put up on other sites but the link you have here just wont work.
Simulationcity
So you can view the forum but not the site.
riven3d
correct the forum i can view but not the site.
Simulationcity
How about the file database:

http://www.simulationcity.net/downloads/pafiledb.php
If you can view tghat then somethings not right with the site itself.
Rohn Starr
I can see the download database with no problem. Popped right up. I haven't seen a link to the forums here yet. I'm more interested in that than the main site anyway.
riven3d
file database works good, the problem is the main site then.
Simulationcity
That is seriously weird.

Here is a list of all of the databases:

PafileDB: http://www.simulationcity.net/downloads/pafiledb.php
Forum: http://www.simulationcity.net/forum
topsite: http://www.simulationcity.net/topsite/
Guestbook: http://www.simulationcity.net/guest/

I'm working on an image database.
riven3d
all the links work fine still cant see the main site.
Rohn Starr
Same here. I can see all these sites, but not the main site. You really do need to look into the redirect issue. I think that's where your problem lies.
Simulationcity
There's one problem on what you said Rohn. There are no redirects on the site. There is a redirect from the old site to the new but on the new site no no redirects.
riven3d
ok i just copied and pasted the link into my browser and now i can view the main site but when i try to click the link from here it has to redirect to your site and thats where it error comes up, I suggest you just put up the link

http://www.simulationcity.net/

instead of using the http tag
Rohn Starr
To see the site, I had to remove the http:// from the link in the post and copy it into the browser. I think that riven3d is correct, the http tag may be causing the problem.

And the redirect is an issue. When I click on the link in the posts, I keep seeing the url constantly changing in the status bar until the redirect limit is hit.
Simulationcity
You lost me. banana-confused.gif banana-dazed.gif banana-blink.gif banana-blink.gif banana-confused.gif
Nforce
Using the link in your first post, and looking at the status bar at the bottom of the window, the url changes at least two times a second. I've noticed this in both IE and Firefox when I click on that link. If you don't have the status bar visible, click 'View' on the top line menu and click on 'Status Bar'.

So Rohn, riven3d and I all seem to have the same issue with that particular link.
riven3d
ok if you take your site url

www.simulationcity.net

that will work fine but when you use the http:// tag in your forum post it has to redirect the link to your site that is where the issue is coming up at. Which means there is problem we are having is the redirect issue is going thru so many redirects to get to your site that it isnt letting us Firefox users to view your site that way.
